Consultation
Please email us or phone us to start a free consultation. We would like to find out as much as possible before arranging a meeting. We are more than happy to talk and introduce ourselves this way before visiting you at home. We also have a list of questions we will ask to help us formulate a price for the survey and design work.
Design
We will design you a customised package of drawings and information to suit your needs. Concepts, mood boards, plans, details and planting designs are all available from our studio. We use a variety of ways to present our ideas, we prefer hand drawn plans but also use computer-aided design packages to present information as clearly and accurately as possible. The first step is to survey your garden. Depending on size and topography we choose between measuring ourselves and hiring a specialist land surveyor.
Beyond the initial layout we look at choosing materials early in the process. We will search your local area for quarries and suppliers of stone and aggregates but also search themes and styles for a narrative that may link into your garden.
The suppliers we find will be included in the design specification so the landscape contractor can approach them for pricing purposes.
Project Management
When it comes to building your garden, we have a list of landscape contractors we recommend in Dorset but can also help you find one in your area if you are further afield.
Ultimately, we can work with and offer guidance to a contractor of your choice.
There are certain key points in all projects where designers should be involved. We agree to a schedule of progress meetings and make ourselves available to answer questions from contractors during the build. Creating a garden can be noisy, dusty and sometimes stressful for you as the client. Sharing similar working hours can mean you hardly see the contractor. Our visits will make sure everything is going to plan and take some pressure off your day to day.
Planting
Plants are a passion of ours and we love exploring combinations and creating bespoke planting schemes to suit each project. We often visit gardens and shows for inspiration and to keep up to date with the latest trends and ideas. Whether we supply and plant or the contractor takes on this element we ensure that the planting will give instant and long-term satisfaction for many years to come.
Maintenance
All gardens will need some nurturing either by yourselves or a third party. Either way we are here to help with maintenance schedules and advice, moving forward.
